THE REAL-WORLD CLASSROOM VISION
We have three goals for our teaching model and company.
My name is Brian Bean, President and Founder of The Real-World Classroom. In 2008 I was a science teacher in Payson, Utah, and in an effort to try to get ahead financially I naively invested in what eventually turned out to be an elaborate Ponzi scheme. As a result, I lost everything and basically had to start life over at the age of 30.
From this experience, I learned two important facts:
I decided there had to be a better way, so I went back to school, got certified in Banking and Finance, got a master's degree in Teaching Methodology, and began developing the RWC teaching model.
The RWC is based on my core belief that the greatest educational experiences in life are a direct result of our own choices. Life is the greatest teacher of all, but the tuition can be expensive!
In 2016, the Real-World Classroom was launched as a pilot program with a small group of schools in Utah and Texas. The program expanded the next year to include Colorado, Nebraska, Georgia, Virginia, and British Columbia, Canada.
Students all over the country now have the opportunity to not just learn about financial literacy. Now they experience it like never before!
